hi,

this is the gem of information i was looking for - thank you :-)
using fink to install imagemagick as suggested in pedro's help file  
might not be the best idea if you can't do the "./configure  
--enable-shared" flags.

I built imagemagick from source and included the above mentioned flags  
and i got my libmagick .dylib file where it was supposed to be.

I also had to get aalib which i don't think was mentioned in the list  
of requirements.

is it? i couldn't find an INSTALL in the pdp_pidip_osx folder, only the  
INSTALL.NOTES.txt which doesn't mention the trick (i don't think)

ps when i did make check it showed that the installation failed - but  
the libMagick .dylib file is now there - is this enough?
