I also did a bit of googling and as I'm Debian centric, I found this 
recent Agnula mailing: 
http://lists.agnula.org/pipermail/developers/2004-January/003504.html
which states that CM is being packaged on Agnula for Guile and CMU
CLisp currently (but probably not done yet).

Anyway as I'm not in a real hurry to install CM I will just wait for
the Agnula package to get ready ;)
