[PD] shell

Yes, because in that case, shell is just launching iChat.app
what i need to do is run an application FROM a Terminal window. That's 
why i need to launch a new shell to do so (the pd one is busy running 
pd)
i thought about osascript, but i want to make sure there's no other 
option. it'd be so handy to do that from pd...
any thoughts?
