[PD] 'coll' object problem

Hello,
    I just learned about the wonderful 'coll' object in pd, but when ever I attempt to create it on my computer, i get the classic "this program has encounterd a problem and needs to close" message.  I am on the latest version of pd in Windows XP. Also, does anyone know how to invoke the properties menu in the 'grid' object for windows?
