Even with the venus.obj model included with the GEM documentation?

Also, on OSX a window has to be created before a model will load.  GEM 
posts messages about this : GEM: geo: model - need window to load 
model.  This should not crash, but if you have arguments to load a 
model in the model object or loadbang a path to one, then try removing 
these.

The pd crashlog can be found in the Console.app logs under 
~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter - send just the numbered section after
