Because of your .fi-address, i assume that you are from Finland and 
using the Finish keyboard-layout. Maybe the best way to type the $ sign 
is to change to another one (f.e. the American layout, so you can use 
SHIFT + 4 to get the $ sign).
(Tip: you can use multiple keyboard layouts and fast-switch via 
ALT+CMD+SPACE)
