Well, its not horrible news.  Part of the Pd-extended build system  
has support for setting CPU targets in one location.  Gem and flext- 
based stuff isn't part of this yet, but it shouldn't be too hard to  
include it.  Then we plan to make a range of binary releases, like  
generic-PowerPC, G4, G5, MacIntel.  Then you'll be in luck again.
