i think it's a great idea...

i heard of one recently, a python programmer who
rigged something up so that he could speak in python

might be this one...

http://surguy.net/articles/speechrecognition.xml

this uses the windows speech sdk, whilst wondering if
an open source sdk existed i came across this piece of
news from tuesday...

IBM to open source speech recognition
http://www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=18420

i use viavoice because of rsi (i should really be usin
g it now, or a softer keyboard in a more sensible
position, but anyway), & it's pretty good.

i'd thought about rigging something up to program in
lisp/scheme using viavoice, because i think the syntax
is simple enough to allow this

i suppose pd for the blind might throw up similar
issues to using screenreaders... some of the same
problems/solutions might apply.

best wishes

adam
