[PD] pduino/comport w/ arduino freezes keyboard and trackpad on Macbook

Howdy all,

I tried using pduino today, and when I specify the arduino board as a
device for the comport object (devicename /dev/cu.usbserial-#####), I
lose complete control of my keyboard and trackpad (on a Macbook).

I can use the power button on the computer to start a shutdown, and
when Pd's closed, I regain control. Ideas?
