[PD] dynamic gui object creation / setting size

which problem? you didn't describe, what problem you have, or did i
overlook something?

however, i assume, your problem is, that you want to set the size of
dynamically created gui-object. i didn't test myself more deeply, but i
assume, that one needs to provide all arguments in order to get any
effect. what arguments you need to provide, can you see by viewing the
source of a pd-patch, that contains a [tgl] object. i think there is
also a detailed documentation on this somewhere. 

for example the [tgl] looks like that:

#X obj 83 163 tgl 30 0 sendsymbol receivesymbol empty 17 7 0 10 -258699
-260818 -241291 0 1;

if you don't want to set a receive- and sendsymbol, substitute them by
'empty'.
