iirc, declare's "-lib" flag might not work as expected on (older
versions? of ) Pd-vanilla for this specific case. this may or may not
be "fixed" with 0.43.
(most likely, it will work if you have the "import" library loaded before)

in any case, you could add an _additional_ "-path list-abs" to
declare's arguments.

sure. but i'd say that turning re-usable abstractions into subpatches
is bad practice.
