i don't think so.

filmQT already (statically) links against "some" QuickTime library (the
API wrapper).
and shipping a full QuickTime (the actual media framework) is probably
problematic license-wise - and, as you noted, problematic from a
security standpoint anyhow (a problem that was not there in the age of pdx)
