[PD] compiling PD on windows

I don't know, may be what Dan said was only applying to windows?

Anyway there are very few things that are incompatible with a 64-bit tcl/tk: GUI plug-ins and "pdfontloader".

IMO is better to use 64bit tcl/tk on 64-Pd and start updating the GUI plug-ins etc.
Also is better that we do it now. Why we should wait 6 years and do it all in a rush?

May be I'm missing something?
Why you are in favor of keeping the 32-bit?

Eventually I remember reading Dan noting that tcl/tk is planning to stop 32bit somewhere on 9.0.0.

that wouldn't make any sense.
tcl/tk is a general purpose, high level programming language.
it's running on a *plethora* of operating systems and architectures.
why would they stop supporting a given processor family?
(esp. when there are still many 32bit platforms *besides* i386 out there)

also tcl/tk is not exactly a fast moving target.
which makes it even more unlikely that they will would deprecate an
architecture that is still used.
