[PD] How can i add comma ended lines to a text?

Drat... I didn't think anyone would ever need to do that.  I don't know
of any way to do it, and when I was writing the "set" functions I couldn't
see any clean way to allow the user to specify how a line should be terminated.

I'm open to suggestions :)
