[PD] font menu stretch?

Hi, in the font menu we have this "stretch" property and I wonder what's
behind it. I thought it'd change the spacing between font characters, but
no... so, what's the use? Anyway, it also seems to behave badly, as if you
change the settings it doesn't get recalled when you open the menu again.

This also gets me thinking we should have it in the manual a description
for every item in every menu
