[PD] linux installation problem

hello list,

i'm trying to install pd on my debian system and i'm having some problems.
when i run ./configure in the /src directory, i get a string of error
messages, including:

checking for main in -lX11... no
checking for main in -lffm... no
checking for tcl.h... no
checking for tcl8.1/tcl.h... no
checking for tcl8.2/tcl.h... no
checking for tcl8.3/tcl.h... no
checking for tcl8.4/tcl.h... no
checking for tcl8.5/tcl.h... no

i assume this means i have libraries missing, could someone help me work out
which ones? when i run 'make depend' after this, i get the error message
'make: *** No rule to make target 'depend'. Stop.' don't know if this helps
work out what's what..
