[PD] GEM and raw1394

Hi all,

  maybe Im too silly: but maybe my ./configure script
has a sense of humour..not only did I have to manually add
linker commands -lXi -lXmu, but now the Gem.pd_linux will
not load because of a missing symbol raw1394_errcode_to_errno

I have installed all the bits suggested / recommended / necessary
as per the README, still the new one wont start up...and I am
all excited about a new Gem (my old 0.84 GEM still runs, but
i want all this new sexiness!)

 any ideas what I have to do ...running SuSE 7.1 or so

would be cool - i finally have some time to play and 
my toys are broken :-<
