I don't think it's off topic. But you can already use PD for all that
loopstation does. Just make a patch that reads joystick data, scales
them to appropriate MIDI values and sends them to any MIDI device
using the plethora of PD's midi objects like noteout, ctlout etc. 

This way, you can even drive the obviously limited Reaktor with a
joystick via PD ;)
