[PD] shell

yo
i'm trying to use [shell] to perform some commands that would run an 
app from the command line
but the already active shell (the one running pd) won't do that
is there a way of launching a new terminal window from [shell] and 
execute these commands from that one?
i tried giving an argument like [shell ttyp2] but i guess that's too 
naive ;-)
i'm on osx jaguar and 0.36
