[PD] two |vcf~| questions

hello list,

I am using |vcf~| inside granular synthesis and granulator patches and I have
two questions related to it

1. bypassing

When you set Q to zero (rightmost inlet), this somehow bypasses the filter
because the bandwidth is very wide; is it correct to do this ? Or should I
rather make a traditional bypass circuit ?

2. when Q increases, less frequences pass through the filter, so if anyone knows
anything serious for compensating the volume loss it would be great; I'm sure
it's possible, as there is a bandpass filter that does this in Max/MSP (see the
help file of |filtergraph| or |filtercoef|).
In the context of granular synthesis and microsound, it's of course impossible
to use |env~| ...

thanks a lot,
-j
