[PD] pool disappears

Hi Gerda,
i tried hard but i couldn't reproduce the problem. I had no problems 
under Windows, OSX and gentoo-linux, with 0.38 or 0.39.
Here i can also use pool compiled for 0.38 with 0.39 (which is what i 
expected).

I would highly appreciate positive or negative observations from other 
people using pool with 0.39. I remember a similar post some time ago 
(pre 0.39!) but i can't find it anymore.
