[gemwin] usually places the "camera" at "0 0 4" pointing to the origin.

this is not the case for [gemframebuffer], which will put the camera at
"0 0 0" and the objects (if not translated by [translate] at "0 0 0" as
well. thus you don't see anything (because the image you want to see is
right at where you are).
try moving the rectangle to "0 0 -4" and be happy.
