works for me with the test patch.

you **must** have DSP turned on in both parent Pd and the subpress Pd 
(the help-patch starts the audio in the subprocess automatically).

i also get the "unknown audio API specified".

tested on Debian/GNU linux with Pd-0.53-1 (as shipped by Debian).
